英文简历特别容易一不小心就写长了而且还全是废话,看着就让人心疼。

之前在简历到底怎么写 | 如何告别“废话”和“写不出来”?这篇文章里讲过,写简历一定要用 动词 + 具体工作内容 + 方法 + 结果 的形式来描述你的经历,英文简历更要好好使用公式来写。

1 不要做自我总结

这个自我总结和写在简历开头那种自我评价类似,很多人喜欢在做过的事情后面加上一个“总结”,或者不写干什么直接就上自我总结,类似:

请注意,动词后面不是用来加自我总结的,Developed了什么产品,而不是你的什么ability。

自我总结并不会让HR真的认为你就有这项能力了,这是毫无说服力的描述,你想体现的能力都应该从 动词 + 结果 表现出来。

举个例子:

这句话去掉自我评价,写清楚具体的工作内容就会变成这样:

可以很清楚的看到你做了一个什么样的报告,明确的知道你会用哪些工具。

而对比自我总结式的描述没有具体信息,很难判断你的真实能力,很容易就被快速筛简历的HR扫过之后丢弃。

所以记住描述的时候使用

2 用准确的动词和时态

看一份英文简历其实光从动词就能基本判断出候选人是否专业,记住这3个动词的使用规则:

英文简历一定不要写完整的句子,每段描述都用动词开始,这个不用多说了,相信写英文简历的同学都知道这个基本点。

但是很多同学会在开头不停的重复同样的动词,像这样:

出现过多重复的动词会显得词汇量太少,本来挺好的工作经验也会减分。

写在简历上的条目建议按照不同的工作类型来分段,所以每个小段的工作描述都应该体现出不同的工作内容和不同的侧重点,完全可以用不同的动词来描述。

确实没有那么大的词汇量怎么办!

还好,我们有中英文对照的动词库啊:

用什么动词的问题解决了,接下来就是怎么用的问题。

你需要知道的是,简历里是介绍你做过什么事情,做出了什么结果,所以所有的描述统一用

很多人会纠结目前还在做的工作,是不是应该用现在时。

还记得简历公式吗?

请切记写简历绝对不是写你的工作内容而已,那个叫岗位描述。除了动作以外要尽可能的去描述你所做到的成果,也就是已经做出了哪些成绩。

所以即使是你现在还在做这份工作,描述的内容也应该是这样的:

3 正确的使用关键字

最关键的来了,关键字!

可能一些同学还不知道,很多外企大公司都会用ATS (Applicant Tracking System) 用机器读取简历内容,从而通过关键字快速的进行候选人筛选,遵循专业简历模板的样式最容易被读取到完整的内容,而很多设计风格的简历是根本读取不了的。结果就是,机器这关你就挂了,根本就没有人看到你的简历。(摊手)

而其实不用系统筛选的公司,筛简历的方法区别也不大。筛简历的通常是HR,而招人的是业务方,HR怎么帮助业务方快速的筛出合适的候选人推给业务去面试呢?也就是看关键字啊!

关键字可以简单的划分为:

背景相关的条件是你没办法更改的,写清楚就可以了。

除了部分公司/部分岗位的背景条件要求很严格,对于大部分岗位来说更重要的其实是看你工作技能是否符合用人单位的岗位要求。

那么第一个问题来了,关键字在哪里找?就在你应聘岗位的招聘要求当中啊!

这里顺便建议一下,尤其是不知道怎么开始写英文简历的同学,第一步直接去仔细阅读岗位的招聘要求。

一般的招聘需求长这样:

可以看到主要包括3块内容:

好好参考一下「岗位职责」,之前的经历中如果有和岗位职责描述上类似的工作可以就需要重点描述,尽量写出职责中的关键词,并写出你做的具体内容和做出的成绩。

除了按照「岗位职责」挖掘之前的类似工作内容以外,就是在「岗位要求」中找出更多关键字了:

那么在简历中就应该根据自己做过的事情加上这些关键字,比如:

最后一部分「公司及业务介绍」可以从中看到团队及业务背景和需求,如果之前有相似的业务项目可以在简历中重点描述。如果没有不要硬加,熟悉招聘方的团队和业务可以帮助你做好面试准备。

简历上不知道该怎么写的时候,参考招聘页面写好的需求其实就能够知道简历需要哪些内容,描述需要从何开始等等。然后根据关键词把之前的经历通过措辞优化写到简历中。

除了最重要必须有的教育和工作经历以外,英文简历一般都会写一些工作以外的活动经历。如果篇幅比较长这个模块也可以不要,只在教育和工作后面放一个小模块「其他」,挑重要的组织和活动经历简单放在里面。

「其他」模块一般还会列出语言、技能、证书/执照(如有)和兴趣爱好。

需要注意的是,模块标题建议全部大写,或者至少全部单词的首字母要大写,一定要统一格式。
