20xx是不平凡的一年,特别是本学期,经历了很多的事情,自己也为之奋斗和拼搏。进入了年终岁尾,回首一学期的工作,心情颇不平静。

今年由于新换了学校的领导班子,学校从各个方面都开始了卧薪尝胆,团结拼搏的新时期。本学期自己担任初一英语组备课组长,初一五六班英语教学任务。由于本届初一我校的生源不是很好,班级学生各个层次都有,自己并没有提前准备得十分充分,同时学校的各个方面的工作又十分的繁多,尤其是初一学生新入学,作为班主任班级的工作占据了大量的时间。所以现在回想起来自己没有做好开学初的学生英语入门教学。导致一学期以来教学工作遇到了很大的阻力,目前已经到了期末复习阶段,自己感觉仍有很多需要改进和提高的地方。以下是自己对一学期以来的教学工作的总结。

一. 思想工作

在暑假期间由于参加了新初一的招生工作,自己几次到乡下进行招生,通过与家长的接触沟通以及家长对学校的反响,对自己的思想触动很大,也切身体验到了我们学校危机重重的实际情况。以前并没有什么感受,但是经过这次工作自己真的有了清醒的认识。自己也在暗暗下决心,一定要让那些抛弃我们的家长后悔,让那些选择我们的家长放心并且安心。凭自己的力量可能算不了什么,但是最起码可以改变我教的班级学生。

由于本学期担任备课组长,不但要做好自己的本职工作,还要坚持把本组的教学工作搞好。在思想上自己尽量克服自身的狭隘思想,尽量做到资源共享,认真组织好本组的备课工作。遇到问题尽量与大家共同协商,共同探讨,处理好出现的问题和情况。尤其是两次到长春听课后,进一步感到了自己的差距。但是鉴于本人的能力十分的有限,很多的思想还有待于进一步的提高和改善。

二. 教育教学方面

入门教育:初一学生由于刚刚正式接触英语,对英语的认知不是很深,尽管大多数学生都学过英语,但是不够系统和专业。做好入门教育便显得尤为的重要。期初备课的时候全体初一的老师都已经意识到了这个问题,并且有针对性的做出了分析和准备。在开学的前两周进行音标字母教学和入门教育,并且有针对性的开展课堂用语的练习,为下一步教学工作打好基础。

了解学情:在教学展开的同时,也逐步的对学生的学习实际进行了了解。在开学的头两周,感觉学生学的都不错,热情也很高,并没有遇到太多的阻力。同时通过调查和了解也知道了大多的学生都在假期期间进行了补课,而且一部分学生还反复的进行了很多次的补习,所以学生学起来头几单元还是比较轻松的。但是随着时间的推移,知识的逐步加深,教学任务的逐渐加大,学生假期补课的老本已经吃光,学生对初中生活的适应期的来临,以及自己对学情的认识不足,逐渐造成了班级学生的两极分化。这些都是自己在备课上准备不足造成的,当发现问题,自己进行调整的时候已经有些晚了。

备课工作:本学期的备课上还是下了很多的功夫,除了本组的每一周的集体备课,在参考了其他同志的意见和建议后,还针对自己所教的两个班级的实际情况,进行有针对的备课,做到既备教材又备学生。针对六班学生比较活跃,五班学生比较沉闷的特点进行有针对性的教学。但是有些时候由于学校的其他方面的工作上的事情,对备课工作在一定程度上有些冲击,导致有些时候自己上课的时候随意性很大。

课堂教学:在课堂教学上,自己总是认为教师的教只是一方面,关键还是学生的学。今年的初一的学生,有一个很大的特点就是不会学习,尤其是听课的效果不是很好,学生的听课注意力很差。针对这一特点自己在有序的教学的同时,还特别的注意了学生上课的有效性。上课的时候自己时常会走进学生,一边讲课一边进入学生中间,同时变换声调,利用手势和肢体语言引起学生的注意力和学习兴趣,尤其是在六班,学生的思想比较活跃,溜号现象比较严重。在听了吉大附中的课后,自己也在自己的课堂教学中学习了王忠平老师的风格,强调了学生的参与性和积极性,在很大的程度上带动了学生的学习的积极性。但是自己在课堂教学中对学生学法的指导和学生的英语语音的纠正方面做得不是很好,需要自己在以后的工作中进行提高。

作业卡片方面:自己作为英语组的一员,继承了英语组的共荣的传统,进行卡片批改。每天利用课前的时间对班级的学生进行单词和句子的检查,有时自己没有时间,就让课代表帮助自己进行,在批改后对学生进行反馈。这也是我们英语教师任务繁重的体现。但是我也一直在思考,很多的时候我们确是在费力不讨好,我们认认真真的进行批改,十分的辛苦,但是反馈的效果却不是很好。问题的关键还是落实的不好,我们小组内也经常进行探讨,但是没有特别好的方法。

分层教学的探讨:针对班级出现的两级分化的情况,同时自己在长春听课时候进行了询问他们分层的情况。自己认为我们学校进行分层教学还是很有必要的,于是一时激动写了提案,没有想到的是我们校长还是比较重视的。于是我们一行再次对附中的分层教学进行了考察,经过考察我们认为时机不够成熟,时间还有些早,对后半部分学生的学习不利,预计在初一下学期或是初二上学期可以进行试验。

其他方面:积极听课,评课。与同组的教师进行业务上的交流和探讨,学习其他同志的教学上的优点,同时通过学习提高自身的教学素质。在学校的要求下,在同志们的指导和帮助下,自己出了一节全校的备课组长研讨课。在其他工作方面,自己一直严格要求自己,遵守学校的一切规章制度,按照学校的要求做好自己的工作。

Children Must be Taught to Tell Right from Wrong

Many of today’s young people have a difficult time seeing any moral dimension (道德层面) to their actions. There are a number of reasons why that’s true, but none more prominent than a failed system of education that eschews (回避) teaching children the traditional moral values that bind Americans together as a society and a culture. That failed approach, called “decision-making,” was introduced in schools 25 years ago. It tells children to decide for themselves what is right and what is wrong. It replaced “character education. (品格教育)” Character education didn’t ask children to reinvent the moral wheel (浪费时间重新发明早已存在的道德标准); instead, it encouraged them to practice habits of courage, justice and self-control.

In the 1940s, when a character education approach prevailed, teachers worried about students chewing gum; today they worry about robbery and rape.

Decision-making curriculums pose thorny (棘手的) ethical dilemmas to students, leaving them with the impression that all morality is problematic and that all questions of right and wrong are in dispute. Youngsters are forced to question values and virtues they’ve never acquired in the first place or upon which they have only a tenuous (薄弱的) hold. The assumption behind this method is that students will arrive at good moral conclusions if only they are given the chance. But the actual result is moral confusion.

For example, a recent national study of 1,700 sixth- to ninth-graders revealed that a majority of boys considered rape to be acceptable under certain conditions. Astoundingly, many of the girls agreed.

This kind of moral illiteracy is further encouraged by values-education (价值观教育) programs that are little more than courses in self-esteem (自尊). These programs are based on the questionable assumption that a child who feels good about himself or herself won’t want to do anything wrong. But it is just as reasonable to make an opposite assumption: namely, that a child who has uncritical self-regard will conclude that he or she can’t do anything bad.

Such naive self-acceptance results in large part from the non-directive (无指导性的), non-judgmental (无是非观的), as-long-as-you-feel-comfortable-with-your-choices mentality (思想) that has pervaded (渗透) public education for the last two and one-half decades. Many of today’s drug education, sex education and values-education courses are based on the same 1960s philosophy that helped fuel the explosion in teen drug use and sexual activity in the first place.

Meanwhile, while educators are still fiddling with (胡乱摆弄) outdated “feel-good” approaches, New York, Washington, and Los Angeles are burning. Youngsters are leaving school believing that matters of right and wrong are always merely subjective. If you pass a stranger on the street and decide to murder him because you need money—if it feels right—you go with that feeling. Clearly, murder is not taught in our schools, but such a conclusion—just about any conclusion—can be reached and justified using the decision-making method.

It is time to consign (寄出) the fads (风尚) of “decision-making” and “non-judgmentalism” to the ash heap of failed policies, and return to a proved method. Character education provides a much more realistic approach to moral formation. It is built on an understanding that we learn morality not by debating it but by practicing it.

Basing his conclusion on his analysis of the fundamental flaws of the decision-making approach, Kilpatrick finally proposes an immediate shift back to character education which he believes teaches morality more effectively by emphasizing practice instead of discussion.

So it is realistic to absolutely forbid them from using them. For another thing, by influencing their children’s behavioral and thinking pattern, the parents can teach their sons and daughters to keep self-control and self-discipline. As a result of the parents’ active participation, it is possible that the children form a good living habit, and then improve their overall qualities. When this situation continues, the children will benefit tremendously from the media consumption, rather than reducing their on-line time.

In a world well connected with Internet and cell phones, it is recommended that the parents teach their children how to overcome network addiction, instead of strictly prohibiting them from using these devices. This conclusion is somewhat traditional, but it is at least rational and realistic.
